Music in Lockdown - June. More views from the bands

Gates of Paradox hail from New York, one of the main epicentres of the COVID19 outbreak. In continuation of our reporting on how the virus and lockdown is affecting musicians and venues, here's what Zane Knight from the band had to say...

"It is a strange time, as it is both a tough time for musicians, and a time to thrive. We haven't been together in person since the virus hit, and we miss playing to crowds of screaming moshing fans. This situation has reinforced how much music affects our daily lives, as so many of us are hurting from live music withdrawal. Despite the negative aspects though, this time of isolation has given us a new sense of inspiration, as well as a different perspective when it comes to creativity. Furthermore, some of our members have also been involved with various collaboration projects with other musicians in our area. These new projects would have never happened outside of the pandemic, and with that, we find a sense of beauty through pain. At the end of the day, music is something that is bringing so many people together even still during the pandemic, reminding us how powerful a rhythm can be, and how a simple melody can make the world around us a better place. We all would love to see live shows happen this year, but if fate does not permit it, we still will be brightening darker days with the power of music!"
