ROX Interview: We talk to George Becker about his Jaded Past

 

Tell us about yourself George? What are your musical background and influences?

My name is George Becker and I am the founder - singer - songwriter for the band JADED PAST. I was born and raised in New Jersey (USA) and began my music dream at the age of 13 years old.  After seeing Elton John , David Bowie , Kiss , Aerosmith and more on television I was hooked and began hanging out at the local music store (Loria Music in Rahway, NJ), first bought a bass , then moved to guitar, and started a garage band with friends. I spent many many years playing and growing on the local music scene which led to now.

When did Jaded Past form?

Jaded Past was initially a project I put together to get back into the original music scene in 2011. But as things progressed it became a full fledged rock and roll unit, signed with three albums and touring the country by 2018.

Who’s in the band?

George Becker on Lead Vocals , Pete Fry on Lead Guitar and Vocals , Leo Sabatino on Bass and Vocals , Peter Giordano on Drums

How would you describe your sound?

Jaded Past is a Melodic Rock Band with a mixture of retro 80's meets raw 70's meets blues meets southern ..... All in All it is Straight Up Rock n Roll

How would you say your music and production has evolved over the 3 albums you’ve recorded?

Well from the beginning debut record to the newly released Live album the Jaded Past experience has grown and evolved extensively. The songs have become better written , more commercially sound , the band in all has become tighter and well oiled. The proof is in our live show. Pure Rock n Roll Adrenaline.

You’ve toured with some big names too?!

Yes we have , since 2016 we have shared the stage with Ace Frehley, Queensryche, Sebastian Bach, Trixter, Cherie Currie, Quiet Riot, Dizzy Reed, Kix and more...

We have also played multiple festivals in Chicago , New England , Miami and more....

And were booked on a European Tour with Bonfire (postponed by Covid 19)

How about George Becker, the solo artist? What are your plans outside of Jaded Past?

I , George Becker, am a singer-songwriter as well as a new on the horizon country crossover artist outside of my role in Jaded Past.

I continue to do Acoustic Solo shows around the country and I just released my first country crossover album this year.
