Megadeth leave all for dead!

On CD/Digital/Vinyl. 2022 UMe

Album review: Megadeth "The Sick, The Dying and The Dead"

It's been 6 looong years since "Dystopia", Megadeth's previous opus of metal. That album was feckin' killer. How will this new album measure up I wondered?

The videos on YouTUbe for the 3 released tracks were awesome; jawdropping in fact. So I expected much of Mustaine and company. I was not dissapointed!

Twelve blistering tracks of classic, riff driving, guitar weilding Megadeth. From the atmospheric start of the album's title track right to the last notes on We'll Be Back the boys bring the metal in ways Metallica could only dream of.

Kiko's guitar prowess is never to be doubted of course but he is pushing Mustaine to achieve far more in terms of ability and musicality than some would have thought possible of him. This album is heavy and fast but very technical and musical. Dave's vocals are great throughout too. The newly installed rythm section of LoMenzo and Verbeuren kick ass. Pummeling and pulsating through the tracks like they've always been there.

It's worth getting hold of the special editions too. There's a 3D cover as well as CD with two bonus tracks "The Planet's On Fire" and "The Conjuring" (live). (note: some CDs have a missprint saying the track is "Dystopia")

Get this album! 10/10 CAG
