This week's iconic vinyl is the EP "Crazy from the Heat" by David Lee Roth.
This 1985, 4 track 12 inch was Roth's first foray into his successful solo career after he left Van Halen. The 4 songs show a fun loving, wacky side to DLR whilst giving a nod to his musical influences. Reception of the EP were mixed as this was a radically different sound for Roth. All the songs are covers and not written by DLR but he puts his usual crazy (pun intended) spin on classics like California Girls. Make sure you check out the video on YouTube!
The EP was certified platinum, was produced by the legendary Ted Templeman and released by Warner Bros
