"Entfesselt" marks a breakthrough, a new era of ASENBLUT.

Years of changing line-ups and internal struggles have come to an end, and the band only knows one direction: forward.

"Entfesselt" turned out rougher, more direct and more powerful than any ASENBLUT album before!

10 tracks filled with raw energy and emotion, considering the lowest lows and celebrating the highest highs.

The songwriting was done by Balrogh in close colaboration with Tetzel, who directed the songs and wrote all the lyrics.

It is no coincidence that the choruses of a lot of songs draw you in and make you sing along and pump your fist!

For the sound, the band decided to go a bit more in-your-face: Big guitars, strong and harsh growls and thundering drums.

Even though the album is not a concept album per se, the album title "Entfesselt", German for unleashed, certainly gives the direction and right impression at first glance; there is just no holding back anymore.

A strong song to start the record with. It's about a man, who is fed up with the gods interfering with his life. Dragging him down, despite his best efforts, and holding him back. Time for vindication! So he takes matters into his own hands and conquers Valhalla – so the reign of men can start.

Entfesselt

The toxicity of some people in life that try to hold us back and make us smaller than we are, has to be dealt with - break the chains, live free and take what you are worth. No compromise, no surrender. Raise your voice, bang your chest and keep your head up - it's you vs. you every day!

Unbesiegbar

We often sink our heads in shame for things we can't control and had no part in. So let's take a step back and look at the whole picture. Look at what humanity has achieved. We conquered the sea, the lands, and the sky, even starting to shoot for the stars. Stop frowning upon what we have done to be where we are. Humanity can be awesome if we realize our potential! Together we are invincible, adaptable, and strong!

Wie ein Berserker

The strongest image and ASENBLUT's mascot: The berserker - unleash your inner one every day! No challenge too hard, to hill too steep. Take matters in your own hands - like a berserker! You only must get up as often as you fall. No fear, invest blood and sweat, even if it tears you apart!

Arm in Arm

Music is audible emotion! Metal brings people together, no matter of heritage, religion, or background. Ever found yourself singing "The Bard's Song" with 10k other people? Brethren! If you are into a band and go to a show, you are never alone - the most important question is already answered: What's your musical taste like? So have a beer and celebrate the sound and enjoy the sensation afterwards: Triumph!

Hexengericht

As Tetzel lives in the Harz area in Germany, he had the chance to look into some of the "recent" (500 years old) witch hunts and how it was even possible to accuse someone of witchcraft. Turns out it was pretty easy. So this song is a piece based on historical accounts. For the vocals we had the great honor to have Askeroth of Nachtblut to join us - with his haunting voice he was just the perfect fit for the song.

Wölfe des Meeres

The wolves of the sea, the Vikings. Traders, conquerors, heathens, family men - a legendary breed of people. Infamous and feared, but also revered and mystified. Bang your head, pump your fist and row like never before to this banger!

Blut und Sand

Decadence of bread and circuses - another historical piece about the gladiators of ancient times. Fighters that spilled their blood for the amusement of the masses. Ecstasy for the people, and a welcomed distraction from real life - maybe you can find parallels to today.

Dagon

What can we say... Tetzel is just a Lovecraft nerd. While diving deeper into the catalogue of books and short stories the song lyrics basically write themselves. Cosmic beings that don't even consider humanity, and humanity's cosmic irrelevance has proven to be horrifying for more than a century and beyond. Matze, vocalist of Deliver The Galaxy, was a natural choice for the guest vocals as Deliver The Galaxy themselves deal with pre-astronautics and the beginning of humanity in their songs. So, fear the unknown, and fear Dagon.

Nox Nostra Est

Sometimes you must simmer in your nostalgia. You can't change the past but learn from it. Mistakes were made and bonds were broken, but there is always another day - and the night will always belong to us. In remembrance of those who walked alongside on our paths, and to those we lost along the road. A hymn to tears and laughter, a raised glass in a dark tavern. Nox nostra est.
